We’ve had a few Thunderbird users complaining about not being able to connect to a clients new Exchange 2010 server. Outlook 20xx clients work fine, whether using Outlook Anywhere or IMAP, as do Apple Mail clients.

We had to try a few combinations of SMTP settings in Thunderbird as even ones that should work, taken from Outlook, appeared not to. However, in case it helps other people, this is what we found worked.

Try these settings in your Thunderbird client

Change the username and servername to fir your requirements. These settings may not work for you depending on your Exchange 2010 receive connectors.
