How to create a restoration job

Obviously we all hope that we will never have to restore a file, but unfortunately these things do happen, so here’s how to restore a file using the G2 backup client.

1) Login to the G2 online backup client as normal.

6) Enter your encryption password. This would have been entered when the backup was first created.

IT IS VITAL THAT YOU DO NOT LOOSE YOUR BACKUP PASSWORD AS YOU CANNOT RESTORE YOUR FILES WITHOUT IT.

7) By default when you restore a file the files will be renamed to end with .sg if a file already exists with the same file name in the same folder. This may not be suitable and you may prefer to have restored files overwrite existing files or to have the existing files renamed prior to the restoration. You can do this in the Advanced Restore Settings.

8) Click the Restore button to start the restoration job

9) The Restoration Progress window will appear. When the job reaches 100% the backup is complete.
